When several retired teachers began working with Adult Ed over at Poynor-Bldg, Mr. AJ Tucker signed up for several reasons: to continue learning and listening to others; to show younger folks the patient way to learn and accept other ideas;and to always have a smile for all. Some days he chose to walk several miles to get to school on time, finish his lessons, and walk back home. . Jane White, Jackie Jones and I(Anita Hayes) truly had a friend who loved like no other. He and several other folks came to our handbell concerts over at Calvary Church several times. He had a kindred spirt and a warm heart for all kinds of personalities. You were one of God's angels to so many people. May God continue to bless all of them. Sincerely, Anita Hayes

Mr.Tucker was a very outstanding usher in the New Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was true to his calling. He was committed to the children on the ushers ministry at our church. He loved them, and was compassionate about training them to be a door keeper in God's house. There is a great need in this millennium generation for men to lead young boys by example. Mr.Tucker did his part. Now someone else must take the torch. He will be missed in the Pee Dee & S.C state ushers Dept. I remember he asked my son Demetric A. Russell to drive him to a conference in Spartanburg S.C. I was kind of fearful as a mother of the 2 of them taking a road trip . My reason being was, one was older and one younger. Mr.Tucker, having the knowledge ,and wisdom of being a man took that young man and the 2 of them journeyed to that conference and performed their duties. God was with them. I thank God for Mr. Tucker being a part of the village of the NEBC. He unselfishly helped groomed my son's life. May God bless the life and legacy of Mr. A.J.Tucker. from Lisa D.Mckithen & demetric A. Russell
