Albert Porter was born on November 24, 1954 to the late Douglas Porter and the late Gennie Finley Porter. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.

Albert spent his younger years in Mississippi but left at an early age.

Albert professed Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age.

Albert attended the public school system in New York City. Upon finishing high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served one tour of duty. He was Honorably Discharged after one tour of duty.

Albert gained employment with the United States Postal Service for many years and later retired.

After his retirement, he relocated to Memphis, Tennessee for a while before relocating again to Florence, South Carolina. He remained in Florence, until his demise.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Porter and Gennie Finley Porter; brothers, Roger Porter, Novertis Porter and Douglas Porter; sisters, Love Ann Foreman and Eddie Mae Holt.

Albert leaves to cherish his memories are Troy Porter of New York, River Porter of Memphis, TN, and William (Betty) Porter of Memphis, TN; sister in-law, Luther B. Porter of Mississippi, Annie Malloy of Florence, SC, Helen Sharp of Memphis, TN, and Mary Weeks of Memphis, TN; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
