Annette G. Denmark

November 27, 1945 — October 20, 2025

Early Life

Annette Graham Denmark was born on November 27, 1945, in Johnsonville, South Carolina, to the late Ben Peterson and Leola Cooper Peterson. On October 20, 2025, she peacefully answered her Heavenly Father’s call and entered into eternal rest.

Annette began her early education in Olanta, South Carolina, and later graduated from Poyner Adult Education in Florence, South Carolina. From a young age, she displayed determination, discipline, and a gentle spirit that would guide her throughout her life.

Professional Journey

Annette worked as a talented seamstress for more than forty years and served as a knowledgeable and respected Supervisor at La-Z-Boy Chair Company for over thirty-two years.

Although she excelled professionally, her true passion was teaching and nurturing children. After retiring from La-Z-Boy, Annette became a Certified Teacher Assistant at Timrod Elementary School in Florence School District One, where she inspired and encouraged countless young students.

Community Involvement

Annette’s commitment to service extended far beyond her career. She loved her community deeply and gave generously of her time and talents.

She served as the Recording Secretary for the Williams Heights Community Association, was an active Neighborhood Watch volunteer, a Girl Scout Leader for many years, an Avon Representative for more than twenty years, and the President of the Wilson High School Band Booster Club for two years.

Her leadership and dedication touched every organization she joined and every person she met.

Faith and Church Service

Annette’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She served faithfully as Superintendent of Sunday School for more than twenty years at Jordan Chapel Baptist Church, and later at her home church, New Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where she also served as a Deaconess and a devoted member of the Missionary Department.

Her unwavering faith and love for God were evident in her service, her words, and her daily walk.

Family and Legacy

Annette was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Leola Peterson; sisters Lela Vertell Peterson, Mattie McFadden (Levon-both deceased), Lillian Hopgood (Roy-both deceased), Jacqueline Richburg (Ernest-both deceased), and Patsy Staine (deceased) (Raymond); and brothers Moddie Peterson and Ben Peterson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory: her devoted husband, Bobby Denmark; four loving daughters, Antoinette McFadden (Tracy), Danette McGill, Dr. Nanette Graham, and Whitney Denmark; one sister, Lola Bannister (David, deceased); seven grandchildren, Nicaela (Niki) McFadden, Tracy Shawntell McFadden (Daneeka), Danika Sharee McGill-James (Chad), Joshua Terrell McGill, Skyla Alma-Annette Bailey, Ronnie Robert Dartell Johnson, and Raylen Jah-Nell Denmark; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved her dearly.

Her Legacy of Love

Annette’s light lives on - in the family she nurtured, the children she taught, the community she uplifted, and the faith she so deeply lived. She had a life of strength, a heart full of love, and a faith that never wavered. Now she rests peacefully in God’s eternal care and in the hearts of all who knew, loved, and cherished her.

Please keep the family of Annette G. Denmark in your thoughts and prayers.
