The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.

A Private Graveside Funeral Service for Mrs. Artesia Lavette Gregg Harrison will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2020 at Greater Saint Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery, 4810 Francis Marion Road, Florence, South Carolina. Interment will follow, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Mrs. Artesia “Tisha” Lavette Gregg Harrison was born July 4, 1975 to Mr. King Edward and Mrs. Mildred Gregg in Florence, South Carolina. She peacefully made her transition into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Tisha was a proud 1993 graduate of South Florence High School. She later received a Certificate in Applied Science in Early Childhood Education from Florence-Darlington Technical College. She was employed at Dothan Security Incorporated (DSI) for the last ten years as a security Captain/Supervisor. While working at DSI, she worked security at Carolina's Hospital and Eaton Corporation.

Artesia loved traveling, couponing, Michael Jackson, and spending time with her loved ones and friends. Her birthday falls on her favorite holiday and she always enjoyed either creating or attending firework shows. She also loved making other people smile and left a lasting impressionon all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; Mr. David and Gladys Egleton; her paternal grandparents; Mr. John Henry and Azalee Gregg, Sr.; three uncles; and five aunts.

Artesia leaves to cherish her ever lasting memories: her parents, King Edward and Mildred Gregg of Florence, South Carolina; three sons, Terry D. Harrison of Coward, South Carolina, Christopher D. Harrison and Dominic J. Staten of the home; three daughters; Jamiyrianna T. Staten of Darlington, South Carolina, Hailey A. Staten of the home, and Alexis G. Gray of Denver, North Carolina; a god-daughter, Alontreyah Gregg of Florence, South Carolina; three sisters, Wilhelmina Knox, Shannah Gregg, and Barbara Ann Gregg all of Florence, South Carolina; a brother, Tommy Gregg (Shena Johnson) of Florence, South Carolina; four uncles, David Egleton of White Plains, New York, Willie (Janice) Egleton, Alphonso Gregg, and Howard Gregg all of Florence, South Carolina; two aunts, Wilhelmina Johnson and Dolly Myers both of Florence, South Carolina; two great aunts, Louise Brown of Pamplico, South Carolina, and Ida Mae Gregg of Virginia; her god-mother, Vondaree Gregg of Florence, South Carolina; a best friend, Francine McCullum of Denver, North Carolina; and a host of nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
