Mr. Barry Clafton Wright, affectionately known to many as “Big Barry”, was born November 14, 1958 to the late Clafton and Elizabeth Martin Wright. He departed this earthly life on Saturday July 25, 2020 at his home in Washington, District of Columbia.
To know Barry was to love him; he was a fun-loving, free spirited person and loved people. Barry had many friends and was always the life of the party. No one was a stranger to him just friends he had yet gotten to know. He enjoyed every day of life as if it were the last day of life.
He attended the public schools of Washington District of Columbia and graduated from Niagara Falls Community College, Niagara Falls, New York. Upon graduation from college, Barry returned to Washington District of Columbia to work for many years with the Washington Hospital System until his retirement. Barry was an avid basketball player throughout high school and college where he was awarded with numerous accolades for his athletic skills.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ervin W. Charles; and his companion, Donna J. Coleman.
Barry leaves to cherish his memory and reflect on his life: his sisters, Theresa E. Wright, Columbia, South Carolina, Joyce B. Wright, Voorhees, New Jersey, brothers, Commodore Charles (Felecia) Florence, South Carolina, and Frederick Wright, Hampton Virginia; one aunt, Mrs. Frances Martin, Florence, South Carolina; nieces; nephews; and a host of other relatives; and special friends all of whom will miss him dearly.
