To Veronica, Mark, Rajah, Jonathan, Samantha, and the entire Echols family, my prayers are with you as your mourn the loss and celebrate the life of your mom. Ms. Bertie Mae was like a mom to many of us who grew up in Fairfield. Growing up next door, I have a many pleasant memories of her. As an adult, whenever I came home to visit my mom, I could always count on seeing her and talking with her across the fence as she watered her plants. May God continue to bless and comfort you in the days, months, and years to come. Kenyatta

My sister and brother-in law moved next door to Bert and George when I was a teenager that was 1974. Through those years we watched each other's family grow. There was a time that I would go to my sister's house and then ask What's Bert doing over there. She watched me as I left home alone and came back to visit bringing a family. As late as this past January I could help but lean on their fence and think about the past years. Bert will be missed by your family extended family and friends. Thank you for watching over us and loving us. Angelo Gibbs and Family
