Reverend Bettie Lee Harris was born December 28, 1937 to the late Garland D. Herndon and Ophelia Jones Herndon. She entered eternal rest on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Reverend Harris known to her family as “Bet” attended school in Boston, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of Northeastern University and was employed with Boston Medical formerly Boston City Hospital as a Radiologist Technician, until she retired and relocated to Mullins, South Carolina.

She attended Bethel Bible College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned her degree and was ordained as an Evangelist upon joining Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Mack T. Hines, Jr. Reverend Harris served faithfully as Associate Pastor in Our Father’s Vineyard, Board of Ministerial Alliance, Sunday School Class #3, and as a Senior Missionary.

In addition to her parents, Garland D. Herndon and Ophelia Jones Herndon, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Fields; and a brother, Douglas Herndon.

Reverend Bettie Lee Harris leaves to cherish her precious memories: her devoted husband, Marvin Harris; three daughters, Karen Herndon and Linda Atwater both of Savannah Georgia, and Cynthia Mabry of Wallingford, Connecticut,; a son, James Faust of Savannah, Georgia; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; three sisters, Joyce Alston, Eileen “Cookie” Ford, and Gloria “Sue” Herndon all of Boston, Massachusetts; one brother, Garland “Dennis” Herndon of  Boston, Massachusetts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
