Early in his childhood, Swole attended New Bethel Presbyterian Church where he shared in the custodial duties and exhibited a humbling spirit. As a young teen, he started cutting hair for all of his friends on Mother’s back porch. He studied engineering at the University of South Carolina and later graduated from Denmark Technical College in 1993. He held a master barber instructor’s license and touched the lives of many with his passion for people, life, cutting hair, and the betterment of mankind.

Swole was a member of the Florence Downtown review boardand served as a mentor for Florence School District 1. He sponsored Swole’s Magics, an urban youth basketball team. His community activism did not stop there; he impacted the lives of everyone he encountered.

Swole was a devoted husband, father, son, and family man. He was also the owner of Swole’s Barbershop in Florence. He was the ultimate people person and loved spending time with his family and friends. He also loved to play golf with his buddies and was very intentional aboutliving his life with purpose.

Swole was amazing at bringing people together to enjoy life! He was a spiritual man, great leader, thinker, philosopher, selfless, loyal, humble and giving. To know his angelic spirit, is to love him. His works have spoken for him.

Swole leaves to cherish: his parents; his wife, Monika Brigman; his sons, Ravon Brigman and Zion Brigman; his siblings, Reginald (Juanita) Brigman, Garrett Conyers, Terrace Brigman, April Brigman, Mondrel (Crystal) Page, and Larry Brigman; his grandchildren, Nicholas Acosta, Ravon Bryce-Emanuel Brigman, and Dallas Micah Brigman; and a host of aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
