Charlie Russell

Mr. Charlie M. Russell was born in Marlboro County, South Carolina on July 22, 1948 to the late Mittie Elizabeth Bethea. He answered the call of our heavenly father on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Charlie received his education in the public schools of Florence County. Charlie was a very loving and caring person who never met a stranger.

Charlie was a faithful member of Monumental Missionary Baptist Church, Florence, SC. He served on the Trustee Ministry. He loved his church but loved the Lord more.

Charlie was employed with La-Z-Boy Manufacturing until the plant closed, then later became employed with State Taxi as a Cab Driver #21 until his health declined.

Charlie was preceded in death by his mother, Mittie Elizabeth Bethea; two sons, Nathen McCall and Tracy Russell; three sisters, Lizzy Bethea, Linda Bethea and Mae Helen Jones; one brother, Donnie Bethea.

Charlie leaves to cherish his precious memories are two sons, Travis Russell of Darlington, SC and Keith Hunter of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Issac Bethea, Jr. and Joseph Bethea of Atlantic City, NJ; six sisters, Peggy (Glenn) Banfield, Barbara Ann Bethea, Nellie Bethea, Kimberly Bethea, Joyce Bethea and Jackie Bethea all of Atlantic City, NJ; two aunts, Mary (Wayne) Brockington and Rosa Burgess both of Florence, SC; four grandchildren, Keenen Russell, Jamal Russell, Travion Russell and NyKeith Hunter; six great grandchildren and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
