Mr. Cubit Lee “ Earl” Lewis was born August 9, 1955 Clarendon County, South Carolina, to the late Isaiah Lewis and the late Pearl McCray Lewis. He departed this earthly life on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.

Cubit was fondly known as “Earl” by family members, received his formal education in Paxville, South Carolina Public School System and the Clarendon County Disability Special Needs Board in Manning, South Carolina.

Cubit attended Church of God by Faith located in Davis Station, South Carolina with his mother.

Cubit always had a loving smile. His favorite hobby was walking. He was known for his excellent manners and behavior.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Isaiah Lewis and Pearl McCray Lewis; a brother, Herbert Lewis, a nephew, Wifford Brunson; a niece, Darlene Brunson; a brother-in-law, Wilbert Brunson.

Cubit is survived by two sisters, Bertha Lee (Reverend Ronald) Lee of Hollywood, Florida and Christine Brunson of Sumter, South Carolina; Willie Lewis of Manning, South Carolina, Joe Jerry (Shirley) Lewis of Gaston, South Carolina, Floyd Michael Lewis of Miami, Florida, Elijah (Ala Fair) Lewis of Sumter, South Carolina, and Ronnie (Samantha) Lewis of Augusta, Georgia; three aunts, Bertie Lee McCray Briggs of Columbia, South Carolina, Josephine Thompson McCray of Manning, South Carolina and Geneva Butler McCray of Salisbury, Maryland; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.
