Mrs. Diane A. Myers, age 74, of Florence, South Carolina, peacefully entered into eternal rest on July 12, 2026, at McLeod Hospice House after a brief illness. She was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Diane was the oldest of four children, born June 26, 1952, in Camden, New Jersey, to the late DeLeon Sr. and Anne Andrews. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and educator whose life was a beautiful example of love, compassion, and dedication. Diane leaves behind a lasting legacy through the many lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Although she was born in New Jersey, Diane's roots and heart were firmly grounded in the Pamplico and Florence communities. Shortly after her birth, her parents returned to Pamplico, South Carolina, where she attended Florence School District Two schools before graduating from Wilson High School in Florence School District One as a proud member of the Class of 1969.

She continued her education at Benedict College, where she pursued her passion for Early Childhood Education. While at Benedict, she met her first husband. From this union, Diane was blessed with her daughter, Nichole Abney Scipio.

As she embraced a new season of life, Diane and her daughter returned to the Pamplico and Florence communities she cherished, where she began a career that reflected her lifelong love for children and education. She devoted more than 25 years of faithful service to Head Start, nurturing, guiding, and inspiring generations of young learners. Beginning as a compassionate classroom teacher, Diane's natural leadership, unwavering dedication, and genuine love for children led her to an administrative role as Career Development Coordinator. She poured her heart into her work, becoming a source of encouragement, wisdom, and inspiration to countless children, families, and colleagues. Her kindness, commitment, and selfless service left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing and working with her.

While working as a teacher at Headstart, Diane met the love of her life, Samuel Myers. On July 26, 1980, they married. Their 45 years together were filled with love, devotion, cherished memories, and the blessings of a beautiful family. Together, they created a loving home with Nichole and were blessed with their beloved son, Samuel Clayton Myers.

Family was the heart and soul of Diane’s life. She cherished every moment with her loved ones and found her greatest happiness in the bonds she shared with her family. The laughter, memories, and love created together were among her most treasured gifts. Her two beloved grandsons, Ashton and Camden, held a special place in her heart and brought her immeasurable joy, pride, and unconditional love.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, DeLeon Sr. and Anne Andrews, and her beloved only son, Samuel Clayton Myers. She carried their memories with her and held their love close throughout her life.

Diane will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle heart, unwavering faith, and steadfast love for her family. She had a special gift for making everyone feel welcome, offering encouragement, and serving others with humility and grace. Her love for children and her willingness to lend a helping hand reflected the compassionate life she lived each day.

Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that she has entered into eternal rest and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her legacy of faith, love, strength, and service will continue to live on through the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind.

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Samuel Myers; her devoted daughter, Nichole (Osbbie) Scipio; her treasured grandsons, Ashton and Camden; all of Florence, SC two brothers, DeLeon (Sara) Andrews Jr. of Columbia, SC, and Theodore (Robin) Andrews of Austell, GA and one sister Kathy Andrews of North Myrtle Beach, SC along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by her kindness and generous spirit.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
