On July 8, 2026, Drayton Green, aged 51, passed away peacefully in Florence, South Carolina. He entered the world on April 13, 1975, in Bamberg, South Carolina as the cherished son of Sister Joyce Green and Reverend Donald Anderson.

Drayton was a dedicated student who proudly graduated from Wilson High School in the Class of 1994 within Florence School District One. His educational journey continued through Virginia State University, Florence-Darlington Technical College, and Francis Marion University, fostering a lifelong appreciation for learning and personal achievement.

Commitment to his country was another hallmark of Drayton's life; he served with distinction in both the United States Army and the United States Reserve, beginning his active duty at Fort Jackson, South Carolina to Fort Knox, Kentucky. His military tenure exemplified a deep sense of duty and responsibility.

Drayton's profound faith guided his path. Initially baptized at a Missionary Baptist church in Atlanta, Georgia, he later returned home to become a deeply committed member of Greater Saint Paul A.M.E. Church. There, he participated actively in the Sons of Allen ministry, fulfilled his responsibilities as a church steward, and shared his gift of song across all the church choirs, bringing joy to worship services and prioritizing his spiritual community's harmony.

Beyond his faith and service, Drayton pursued various passions that brought him immense happiness. An avid golfer, a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, and an enthusiastic admirer of Star Trek, he loved these hobbies for the joy they brought and the connections they fostered with fellow enthusiasts.

Family remained at the absolute core of Drayton's existence. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his cherished son, Drayshon Ronald; his parents, Sister Joyce Green and Reverend Donald Anderson; his maternal aunt, Sarah Bacote Wilson; his sisters, Donna, LaVal, and Ricca; and his brothers, Samuel, Marcos, and Joshua. He is also survived by a special god-sister Sonia D. Hart (husband Victor), and God-sisters, Renessa, and Roshika Nicole; cousins, Tina (husband Wyett), Chris, and Tony; a special niece, Marissa Elana; nephews Marquiez (wife Bree) and William (wife Tia); and nieces Genae (husband Alex, Genetta (husband Darnell), and India.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Sadie and George Green; his paternal grandparents, Ellen Harley and Willie Anderson; his maternal uncle, Charles Bacote; his maternal aunt, Mary Brundidge; his paternal uncle, Reverend Leon Anderson; and his godmother, Ina Lee Dennis, affectionately remembered as "Lil Sista". Their impactful legacies remained woven into Drayton's life as he continually honored their memory.

Known for being soft-spoken yet firm in his beliefs, Drayton embodied kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to those around him. He followed in the footsteps of Uncle Cobie a man whose influence shaped Drayton into a man of God who valued family above all else.

May Drayton Green's memory bring comfort to all who knew him. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched with his faithfulness, humor, love for music, and devotion to family.
