Mrs. Earlie Mae Johnson Coleman was born on July 27, 1939 to the late Earley and Estelle McCall Johnson. She departed this earthly life to enter eternal peace with her Master on Thursday, December 9, 2021.

Mrs. Coleman was educated in the Florence County Public Schools and later received training at T Square.

On June 26, 1965, she married the late Claude W. Coleman, Jr. and to this union six children were born.

Mrs. Coleman was a lifetime member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Effingham, South Carolina, where she was a member of the Mass and Gospel Choirs, a Trustee, and served as the Missionary Secretary and Treasurer.

Mrs. Coleman was a Household Technician most of her life, where she served many families. She also was employed with Horne’s Motor Lodge, where she retired, and later was employed part-time with Stokes Eye Clinic.

Mrs. Coleman affectionately known to some as Ma and Grandma, others as Mae, Aunt Earlie, Auntie M. or just plain Earlie Mae answered to all who called because she loved each and every one.

Mrs. Coleman love for people, her beautiful smile, and unique voice will always be remembered.

Mrs. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents, Earley and Estelle McCall Johnson; her oldest child, Kenneth C. Johnson; her youngest child, Brian M. Coleman; and nine siblings.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her children, Laura A. Johnson Washington, Claude W. Coleman, III, Wayne A. (Deteria) Coleman, and Linda D. (Bernard) Pyfrom; ten grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; two great greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Jessie Mae Brown and Carrielean McLaughlin; and a brother, Rutho (Victoria) Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
