Funeral service for Eligah Antwain "Taz" Jacksonwill be conducted Friday, August 9, 2019 at J.O. & Annette Smith Memorial Chapel, 307 S. Johns St., Florence. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC. Mr. Eligah Antwain ‘Taz” Jackson was born on July 14, 1994 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina to Rosa Mary Jackson and Robert Jackson and later raised by Anthony Fred Battle. He departed this life and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 in Florence, South Carolina. “Taz” as he was affectionately called by his immediate family members was a fun loving; full of laughter; prankster; jokester; loving son; great big brother; awesome uncle; and eye candy to the women, kind of guy. While in Charlotte, North Carolina, he attended elementary and middle school. “Taz” participated in basketball and football. While growing up in Charlotte, he became an avid Carolina Panther and North Carolina Tar Hill fan. On October 8, 2008, “Taz” moved with his family back to Florence, South Carolina. He attended Wilson High School and finished his education at Poynor Adult Education Center, where he received his GED. Eligah was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Mattie Davis; his maternal grandfather, Eligah Clark and his maternal aunt, Danielle Davis. Eligah leaves to cherish his memory: his mother and step-father, Rosa and Anthony of Florence, South Carolina; his father, Robert Jackson of Florence, South Carolina; a brother, Anthony Andre Battle of Florence, South Carolina; a sister, Jennifer Davis of Florence, South Carolina; two grandmothers, Annie Jackson of Florence, South Carolina and Rose Bynum of Charlotte, North Carolina; a nephew, Alistair Hair of Florence, South Carolina; a niece, Ariana Thomas of Florence, South Carolina; an aunt, Joyce Ann Wright of Johnsonville, South Carolina; an uncle, Daryle Battle of Charlotte, North Carolina; two special cousins, Henry Wright and Rakime Wright both of Johnsonville, South Carolina; a god sister, Laquisha Wright of Johnsonville, South Carolina; a special god niece, Butta; a childhood friend, Taraha Jackson of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of other nephews; other nieces; other relatives and friends.
