Elnora J. Moore

Mrs. Elnora J. Moore, affectionately known as “Ellie”, was born on September 1, 1951 in Greene County, Alabama. She peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was the youngest daughter of Annie Lula Davis and Abraham Davis, Sr.

Elnora confessed Christ at an early age as a member of Christian Valley Baptist Church in Greene County, Alabama.

She graduated from Greene County Training School. After graduation, she relocated to Pitts burgh, Pennsylvania where she began her career in the medical field at Allegheny Hospital. She later returned to Birmingham, Alabama to continue her career, working for UAB, St. Vincent’s Hospital, Southview Medical Group, and several individual physicians as a Medical Transcriptionist. 

Elnora later owned and operated her own medical transcription business for many years. She also served faithfully as an Administrative Assistant to her husband. She was active in her community and touched many lives through her kindness and generosity.

In 1998, after marrying, she became a member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church where she was an active and dedicated member.

Elnora was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters. She was a genuinely lovable person who, over the years, gained countless friends and acquaintances.

Elnora’s memory will be cherished by her loving husband, Joe Moore; three sisters, Ann Hillard, Nancy Motley, and Ester Mae Davis; special niece, Carolyn Bland (Matt); nephew, Charles Motley, Jr.; step-daughter, Adrienne L. Moore; five nieces, eight nephews, ten great nieces, seven great nephews, a host of cousins, extend family, and friends.
