Herman B. Daniels

Herman Bailey Daniels (AKA HB), 81-year-old, of Florence, South Carolina, passed away on February 14th, 2024 after fighting for 6 weeks to remain with his loved ones. HB’s only desire was to go home and be with his beloved significant other, Ms. Betty J. Townsend.

Herman was born on September 6, 1942, to Herman Bailey Daniels Sr. and Juliet Lee Daniels in Lake City, SC. Herman (age 17) met Barbara Ann Juliet Wilds (age 16) in Florence, SC. A year later they had a lovely garden wedding in Florence, SC in 1959. They went on to have 5 children, one of the twins deceased at birth. Surviving children, Johnathan Nathan Daniels, Ms. Sandra Elaine Colo’n-Williams, Ms. Helen Viola Harris and Ms. Vernita Daniels. Herman Bailey Daniels went on to have an addition to the family, our brother Charles Rush.

Herman and his family moved to New York City in mid-1965. Residing in Staten Island then to Manhattan, New York. Herman worked several jobs over the years, including at a bank in Manhattan, and as a janitor at a local high school. In 1979 Herman Separated from his family and later moved back to Florence, SC. HB, always living life on his own terms. He went where he wanted and did what he wanted to do. Free spirited in his youth. HB loved his family and friends and missed his children dearly. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, which gave him peace. HB loved painting, and painted numerous places in Florence, SC. Lake City, SC and surrounding areas. HB met Ms. Betty Townsend in the mid to late 90’s. They enjoyed their lives together for 2 decades creating memories to last a lifetime.

* His children: Johnathan Nathan Daniels, Utica, New York, Charles Rush, Florence, South Carolina, Ms. Sandra Elaine Colo’n-Williams, Winchester, California, Ms. Helen Viola Harris, Virginia, USA, Ms. Vernita Daniels, Chantilly, Virginia

* His 10 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren

* His brothers and sister: Mr. And Ms. Ivery Earl, Daniels, Timmonsville, South Carolina, Mr. Leonard Stevens Johnson, Lake City, South Carolina, Ms. Linda F Edwards, Fort Lauderdale, Florida

* A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends
