Our beloved Hodgies Evon Livingston entered into eternal life on Wednesday morning, August 20, 2025, at the age of 76. He was born on May 31, 1949, in Horry County, South Carolina, in the Wampee Community, to the late Isaiah Benjamin Livingston and Hattie Edna Livingston.
Evon, as he was called by family and friends, graduated from Chestnut Consolidated High School in 1967. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he moved to New York and worked for the Department of Mental Health until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jody.
Hodgies leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory: his devoted wife Susan, and three children, Arriel (Tyrone) of the home, Michal of New York, and Charlie (Keri) of New York. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Audrianna, Giovonna, Jelani, Zaid, Najah, Taaliah, Nasir, Talib, Logan, and Dylan.
He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, as well as three brothers: Henderson (Romonia), Keith (Pennee), and Dale; and two sisters: Susie (Paul) and Floristine (Pat).
Hodgies will be remembered for his dedication to family, his service to country, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family who will forever hold him in their hearts.
