Joyce Maloney

Joyce Marcia Grant Maloney was born July 11, 1935, in Florence, South Carolina to the late Dr. Randolph Odell Grant, Sr. and Pansy Mosely Grant. She departed this earthly life on October 25, 2025.

Joyce was a graduate of Wilson High School, class of 1952. She furthered her education, graduating from Claflin College, cum laude, in 1956, majoring in Elementary Education.

Joyce was joined in holy matrimony on June 27, 1961, to the late Ralph V. Maloney, Sr.

Joyce was employed with Walterboro County and Florence School District One, teaching at Holmes and Theodore Lester Elementary Schools.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Dr. Randolf Odell (Jean) Grant, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Ralph V. (Emma) Maloney, Jr. and Leonard B. Maloney of Florence, SC; one granddaughter, Alyssa J. Maloney of Florence, SC; and other relatives and friends.
