Laura C. Washington

d. October 5, 2023

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

                                                        Psalm 23:1

We are Celebrating the Life of Ms. Laura Catherine “Polly” Washington who was born October 21, 1951, to the late Mr. Elijah “Bo” Washington and the late Mrs. Queen Catherine White Washington and reared by the late Mary Elizabeth Washington Muldrow. She peacefully made her transition into eternal rest on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Greenville Memorial Hospital, after an illness, in Greenville, South Carolina.

Laura, affectionately called “Polly” lived her life to the fullest without any regrets.

Polly attended Florence Public Schools and was a proud Class of 1969 graduate at Wilson High School. She was employed with Ron’s Café, Gangplank Seafood Restaurant and Donut Diner all in Florence, South Carolina, until her health declined.

Polly, a member of House of God Keith Dominion Church in Florence, South Carolina, joined under the leadership of the late State Elder Elijah Green.

Polly loved her boys and her family and would go to war for them. She loved listening to music, especially Roy Charles Hammond better known as "Roy C”, laughing, joking and would always say, “I’m , Bo Washington’s daughter.”

Polly was preceded in death by her father, Elijah “Bo” Washington; her mother, Queen Catherine White Washington; her mother who reared her, Mary Elizabeth Washington Muldrow; her paternal grandparents, Andrew Washington and Mariah Washington; her maternal grandparents, Perry White and Catherine White; three brothers, Elijah Washington, Jr., Claude Lee Washington and Charlie White; a sister, Ann White; a nephew, Elijah Washington, Jr.; and several aunts and uncles.

Polly leaves to cherish her lasting memories: three sons, Roy Muldrow, Jr. of Columbia, South Carolina, Joseph Lee Washington of Florence, South Carolina and Andrew Calvin Washington of Waterbury, Connecticut; a sister, Joan ( Gary) Boyd; a brother, Jerry Muldrow; seven nieces, Baretta (Johnny) McKnight, Dana White, Emily Washington, Wanda Washington, Blenda M. Ford, Prophetess Katrise G. Jeffrey, and Dashiell Gandy; eleven nephews, Jodis Washington, Tomar Washington, Wendell White, Maurice White, Aaron White, Kelvin White, Tyion Evans, Eric Washington, Marcus Muldrow, Tito Muldrow and Brenton Perry; a special great-niece, Zy’Nise S. Ford; a special cousin, Barbara Quick; a daughter in love whom she loved dearly, Tammy Lee; a sister-in-law, Gladys Washington; a close friend, Shirley Barr; two special friends, Queen McCall and Azalee Jones; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
