Lee Verne Ellis, the eldest son of the late Lee Edward Ellis and the late Annie Ruth Davis Ellis was born in Pamplico, South Carolina on August 19, 1951. He entered eternal rest on
September 24, 2025.
Lee or "Freatly" as he was called by family and friends was educated in the Florence County Public Schools, a graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School, Class of 1971. He was athletic, had loved to travel, play pool, bowl and dance; and he could fry the best fried chicken.
Lee served his country in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era, being honorably discharged. But, Lee didn't return how he left.
Lee joined Aimwell Missionary Baptist Church in Pamplico, SC at a very young age.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Ellis and Annie Ruth Davis Ellis.
He leaves to cherish fond memories, his two sisters, Olean (Arthur, Jr.) Felder and Joycetine (Kenneth) Barnes; two brothers, Roy (Cornelia) Ellis and Henry (Flossie) Ellis; six nieces, Tochia (Larry, IIl) Patterson, Tracee Burch, Julaunda Ellis, Felicia Ellis, Brittany (Carvin) Woodberry, and Staff Sergeant Retired Faith Ellis; four nephews, Perry (Natalie) Brown, Arthur (Shakira) Felder, III, William Kendrick Ellis and Roy Tariq Ellis; eight great nieces; eight great nephews; five great, great nieces and four great, great nephews; one aunt, Georgia Gibbs; one uncle, Frank (Easter Mae) Ellis; two cousins reared as siblings, Magalean Davis and Frank (Selma) Davis; three special cousins, Fannie McKoy, Melva Parker and Rev. Gracie Ellison; along with a host of other cousins and friends.
