Lois Pate
Mrs. Lois Ann Cotton Pate was born March 28,1964, in Darlington County to the late Eugene Cotton and Lois Graham Cotton. Lois affectionately known as Pokey, took her rest on Friday, March 25, 2022.
Lois was educated in Darlington County public schools. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Hartsville Bible Baptist Church, in Hartsville, South Carolina, under the leadership of Pastor Booker T. McPhail.
Lois was an excellent cook and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family. Lois had a heart of gold and was always willing to help any and everybody in doing anything. She also enjoyed making others laugh and was always the life of the party.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Booty” Pate; her parents, Eugene Cotton and Lois Graham Cotton; and her oldest brother, Eugene “Boy” Cotton, Jr.
Her loving memories will always be cherished by her only daughter, Carprina Pate of Darlington, South Carolina, and a special friend, James Ham of Hartsville, South Carolina; four sisters, Earline Cotton, Connie (William) Gatison, and Beverley Howard all of Hartsville, South Carolina, and Pandora (Ezekiel) Scott of Darlington, South Carolina; two brothers, Ervin Cotton and Ronnie Cotton both of Hartsville, South Carolina; three aunts, Elzenia Benjamin of Hartsville, South Carolina, Dorothy Brisbon of Aberdeen, North Carolina, and Helen Glover of Baltimore, Maryland; one great aunt, Mabel Cotton of Pinehurst, North Carolina; one uncle, Laurie Robinson of Baltimore, Maryland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other close family members, and friends.
The family will receive friends at 1121 E. Old Camden Rd, Hartsville.
