Graveside service for Mrs. Mary Tucker Mason will be conducted 1 PM Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 3500 New Hopewell Road Darlington, South Carolina. Interment will follow directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Mrs. Mary Tucker Mason was born on December 10, 1954. She was the daughter of the late James Ham Tucker and Laura Mae Tucker. She departed this life on Thursday, September 17, 2020.

Mary was educated in the Darlington County Public Schools.

She was a South Carolina State employee with Thad E. Saleeby Development Center in Hartsville, South Carolina where she retired after 28 years of service. Mary was also employed for 4 years with the Governors School for Science and Mathematics.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Ham Tucker and Laura Mae Tucker; and one brother, James Tucker, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memories are: her husband, Allen Mason; three children, Chiquina Mason (Derrick Swinney), Allen Mason, Jr., and Yolanda (Amendez) Benjamin all of Hartsville, South Carolina; six grandchildren, Mario Mason, Quadeidra Mason, Quandreca Benjamin, Shidaysa Mason, Bria Benjamin, and Jalen McCrea all of Hartsville, South Carolina; seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara T. (Rickie) Robinson of Columbia, South Carolina, Margaret Hawkins, Deloris Fox and Virginia Hickman all of Hartsville, South Carolina; eleven sisters and brothers-in-law, Ethel Mae Wilson, Barbara Hawkins, Dorthey Cooley, Sandra Mason, Sara (Calvin) Murray, PK Mason, Andrew (Betty) Mason, Ronnie Mason, Herbert (Mary) Mason, Julious (Kimberly) Mason, and Argree Cooks; and a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.

The family will receive friends at 1001 Meadowview Drive, Hartsville, South Carolina 29550.
