Mr. Melvin Joseph Britt, the son of Irene Britt and the late Thurmond Collins was born on March 28,1971, in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
Melvin received his formal education in the Florence County Public School System. He attended Wilson High School and later received his General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
Melvin loved family, a man always to himself and spent much time at home. His favorite past time was sitting on the front porch.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father, Thurmond Collins; maternal grandparents, Leo Britt, Sr. and Annie Mae Britt; an aunt, Mary C. Dunham; and two uncles, Andrew Evans and Leo Britt, Jr.
Melvin leaves to cherish one daughter, Latoria Robinson; a grandson, Maurice Robinson; his mother, Irene Britt of the home; three sisters, Yolanda Britt, Annie Britt and Nytisha Baker; three aunts, Daisy Cannon, Gloria James and Jacqueline Briggs; one uncle, Jerome Britt; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.
