The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.

Private Graveside Service for Minister Timothy Shaw will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 2615 Alligator Road, Effingham, SC. Interment will follow, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Minister Timothy Shaw, the son of the late Luke Shaw and Lula M. Moses, was born May 28, 1964 in Patterson, New Jersey. He left this life to return to the open arms of his creator on July 7, 2020.

Minister Shaw attended the Public Schools in Patterson, New Jersey and was a graduate of J. F. Kennedy High School.

Minister Shaw relocated to Florence, South Carolina and was joined in holy matrimony to Bernice Kelly Shaw and this union was blessed with seven children.

Minister Shaw was a member of Judea Apostolic Church in Florence, South Carolina, where he served as Minister, under the leadership of Bishop Donald Hyman.

Minister Shaw was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Shaw and Lula M. Moses.

Minister Shaw is survived by his wife, Bernice Kelly Shaw of the home; four sons, Timothy Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, Kwaise Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, Dyrel Alston of Florence, South Carolina, and Lameke Grant of Florence, South Carolina; three daughters, Tiffany Shann of Patterson, New Jersey, Erin Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, and Shonquetta Alston of Florence, South Carolina; three grandsons, Tayveon Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, Cario Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, and Ramone M. Jones, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Shamone Jones of Florence, South Carolina; two brothers, Julius D. Moses of Darlington, South Carolina and Gary Shaw of New York; four sisters, Priscilla Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, Regina Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, Sylvia Shaw of Patterson, New Jersey, and Jonna Moses of Darlington, South Carolina; one special aunt, Melzene Hyman; and a host of nephews; nieces; other relatives; and friends.

Minister Shaw will always be remembered for his love of others, his loyalty and his kind heart.
