Mr. Moses Gregg Coker was born on August 30, 1938 in Mars Bluff Community of Florence, SC to the late Jack Coker and the late Hanna Mae Gregg Coker. He departed this early life on Sunday, July 12, 2026 in Brooklyn, NY after an illness.
Moses was educated in the public schools of Florence, South Carolina. Moses entered the United States Army. He was enlisted about five years before being honorably discharged in Baltimore, Maryland.
Moses held employment as a cab driver, truck driver and bus driver. Moses matriculated to Brooklyn, NY where he held residence for about 45 years. He decided after 45 years of living in Brooklyn, NY that he would return to Florence, SC his home again.
Moses hobbies were playing pinochle, coon can, spades, checkers, reading, watching TV, helping elders and driving bus.
Moses was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Gregg and Hanna Mae Gregg; daughter, Lee Devance “Dee Dee” Coker-Holmes; and grandson, Tristan Coker.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Jeffery (Gail) Coker of Queens, NY, Patrick Coker, Brooklyn, NY and Prince Potee of Brooklyn, NY; his daughter, Anita Stanley of Washington, DC; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; sister, Diane Rush; Yvonne “Peggy” Daniels Coker; devoted friend, Patricia Adams and Mollie Powell and host of other relatives and friends.
