Pauline McDuffie

d. August 31, 2021

Pauline Louise McDuffie, known to many and most as simply “Mama”, went home to Heaven on August 31, 2021. She lived on this earth 80 years. In those years, she filled our worlds with her flowers and love. She was a "Giver", who believed she could do anything she set her mind to with the support of God. Mama was a provider. As a child she knew what it meant to trust in God and love your family. She can be best remembered for her love of family and friends, but also for gardening, cooking, shopping it up at yard sales and the flea market, and relaxing on the front porch on hot summer evenings. Mama was the definition of the word glue. If you had something on your mind, she was there, and ready to listen. If you needed to know how to do something, she was there, and ready to show you how. If you needed a helping hand, she would give you the shirt off her back, and a plate of food if you were hungry. Because of her selflessness, people from all walks of life loved her. Through her life both now and always, we are all connected.

In life, Pauline loved helping others and spending time with family and friends. She married well. John McDuffie was as spirited as she. They were evenly matched in spirit and always enjoyed joking with each other in good fun. Their marriage stood the test of time and was full of life and love. John was her rock, and she was his sun, moon, and stars. The path they took in life was long and fertile. Pauline's prayer was to have a big family and a home bursting at the seams. God blessed them with their heart's desire. They raised their children and grandchildren with love and encouragement. She taught them about the importance of putting God first in life, the value of love, and the secrets to happiness.

Mama loved family get-togethers, shopping, and on occasion a game of spades. She liked going to the park and watching her grandkids play. When you talked with Mama, you knew she cared. Her compassion and empathy for others was unmatched. Mama may have left this world to reunite with her beloved husband John, and other family members in heaven, but our memories of her and the way she touched each of her family and friends, will forever be covered in beautiful, sweet smelling flowers.
