Mrs. Queenie Mae Gaddy Bailey the daughter of the late Robert Brown and Mary Gaddy was born in Dillon, South Carolina on May 11, 1921. She departed this earthly world to gain her heavenly reward on Friday, March 26, 2021.


Mrs. Queenie Mae Bailey was a strong and devoted Christian who loved the Lord and all she came in contact with on her journey (although it was a long journey) her faith never wavered.


Mrs. Queenie Mae Bailey was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she served on the Senior Choir and the United Methodist Women Organization, until her health declined.


Mrs. Queenie Mae Bailey was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Luwain Bailey of 55 years; a son, Wille Marvin Bailey; a daughter, Pecola Williams; two grandchildren, Linda James and Minister Marvin Maurice Bailey; five brothers, Johnny, Levi, Franklin, Calvin and Leroy; and two sisters, Maggie and Lutherine.


Mrs. Queenie Mae Bailey leaves to cherish her precious memories: a daughter, Helen B. McWhite of the home; seven grandchildren, Wanda Cain (Ronnie), Russell (Lakesha) Cain, Regina Ham, Kristie McWhite, Jeffrey (Lotus) McWhite, Brian (Neva) Bailey, and Patricia (Robert) Cade; twenty-six great grandchildren, thirteen great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives, extended church family and friends.

The Governor of South Carolina advises to limit public gatherings to 50 guests or less to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC carefully considered this recommendation and ask that additional guest please participate via live-streaming if it is authorized by the family.
