Robert L. Watson, Sr.

Mr. Robert Lee “Brother “ Watson, Sr., 72, the son of the late James and Martha Watson was born April 5, 1953 in Marlboro County, South Carolina. He passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025.

Robert graduated from Blenheim High School in Blenheim, South Carolina.

Robert was married to the late Joyce Pugh-Watson and this union was blessed with three children, Robert Jr , Patrice and Timothy.

Robert, a faithful member of Cedar Fall Missionary Baptist Church, served as a Deacon and on the Usher Board, before his health declines.

Robert was an avid Los Angeles Lakers and Pittsburg Steelers’ fan for many years. He took pleasure in riding his motorcycle; was known as a social butterfly that never met a stranger; had great love for his family; and his impeccable personality was one to be forever remembered.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Joyce Pugh-Watson; a daughter, Patrice Watson-McFadden; three siblings, Tina Watson-Frederick, Henry James Watson, Carrie Watson-Purvis; and a brother-in-law, Bob Frederick.

Robert leaves to cherish two sons, Robert Watson, Jr. and Timothy Watson both of Florence, South Carolina; a grandson, Jawan Watson of Florence, South Carolina; a granddaughter, R’Dashia McFadden of Darlington, South Carolina; three siblings, John (Mary) Watson of Rosedale, New York, Sarah Watson-Brown of Lansing, Michigan and Ann M. Watson-Moore of High Pointe, North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Mauris Purvis; three special nieces, one of whom he loved as a daughter, Stacie Brown, Christlyn Goode and Stacie Moore; three great nephews, Jorhdon Davis and Keith J. Brown, Jr; a great niece, Brandy Brown; one great great-nephew, Shane McLaren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
