Rosa Marie Goodman

 Ms. Rosa Marie Goodman, the daughter of the late Freeman and Rosa Lewis was born September 28, 1943, in Florence County. On December 18, 2022, she passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 79.

Rosa attended the Public Schools in Florence County and was a graduate of Wilson High School. She attended Florence Darlington Technical College and obtained A Certification Degree as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) while raising two sons, Andra and Lorenza.

At an early age Rosa joined Saint Matthew Church of God in Christ Jesus-Apostolic and served as a doorkeeper on the Usher Board.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Rosa Lewis; five sisters, Lillie M. Howard, Elouise Muldrow, Harris E. “Aunt Tugg” Johnson, Carnetha Lewis Frierson, and Renatta Gilliard; and two brothers, William Lewis and Ozzie Lewis.

Rosa provided a loving warm clean and Godly home for her children. You could always find her with the front door opened listening to the Mighty Clouds of Joy singing “Pray for Me” or Shirley Caesar; her sitting at the dining room table working on a 1000-piece puzzle, in the kitchen baking bread that she would sometime sell at work, or just imparting life changing morals and values into her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rosa leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Andra (Karen) Goodman and Lorenza (Shannon) Goodman; seven grandchildren, Quandrea Goodman, Octavia Goodman, Christin Cooper, Quintin Goodman, Danielle Cooper, Kiera Cooper, and Tandrea “Tan” Goodman; six great grandchildren; one sister, Cora Lee Henry Samuels; one sister-in-law, Mabel Lewis; one brother-in-law, Moses “Boy” Muldrow, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, Saint Matthew Church of God in Christ Jesus-Apostolic Family and friends.
