Mr. Rudolph “Rudy” Hennigan, a devoted husband, cherished father, and beloved grandfather who made family the cornerstone of his life departed this life on Thursday, May 21, 2026.

Rudolph was born in Florence, South Carolina on October 9, 1939, to the late Mr. Monroe Hennigan, Sr. and Mrs. Altomae A. Hennigan.

In his youth Rudolph was a member of Cumberland Methodist Church. Rudolph was baptized at New Ebenezer Baptist Church, Florence South Carolina.

Rudolph attended the public schools of Florence, South Carolina, known for his athleticism in football and baseball at Wilson High School. Upon completion of high school, he relocated to Trenton, New Jersey and worked for the State of New Jersey at the Trenton Psychiatric Hospital as a blue sealed engineer. Rudolph was drafted into military service and served with an honorable discharge.

Rudolph met and married the love of his life, Rose Ann Dorsey of South Carolina. One child was born to this union.

Rudolph was a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church, Trenton, New Jersey and wore many hats and served as a Deacon and Trustee.

After retiring from Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, Rudolph and Rose Ann returned to Quinby, South Carolina and rejoined New Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rudolph was a member of the married couple’s ministry.

Rudolph lived a life rich in simple pleasures and deep connections. He cherished nothing more than the company of his family and friends, who were the true center of his world. On any given day, you might find him tending to his yard with great pride, tinkering away with his tools, and enjoying a good meal. Above all else he was a man of faith, anchoring each day in scripture and prayer. He had a gift for finding contentment in everyday moments and making those around him feel loved and valued. He will be remembered not only for what he built and tended, but for the warmth and steadiness he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Mr. Monroe Hennigan, Jr., Mr. Monroe Hennigan III, Mr. Wilbur Hennigan his sisters, Mrs. Martha Hennigan Legette and Mrs. Marjorie Williams.

Rudolph leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Rose AnnHennigan of Quinby, South Carolina, his daughter, Georgette (Terry) Bowman of Trenton, New Jersey, two grandchildren, Amber (Melvin) Boone of Milltown, New Jersey, Terrence Bowman of Trenton, New Jersey; sister, Eileen H. Orange of Winter Park, Florida; two brothers: Chester Hennigan and Kenny Hennigan of Florence, South Carolina, Goddaughter, Keisha Fisher of Lumberton, New Jersey and his special friends, Willie McDaniel of Effingham, South Carolina and Leroy Ellison of Midville, Georgia. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
