Ms. Sandra Bernadette Fleming, the daughter of the late James Fleming Sr. and the late Mattie Fleming was born January 2, 1959 in Orange, New Jersey. She transitioned to her eternal resting place on Sunday, September 21, 2025.

Sandra excelled academically and proudly graduated from East Orange High School in 1977. She spent the majority of her life in East Orange, New Jersey before relocating to Florence, South Carolina in the early 2010s. It was in Florence that she met Sharon Bethea, who would become one of her closest friends. Sandra also formed a tight-knit bond with a group of remarkable women, and together they affectionately became known as “The Golden Girls.”

Sandra became a devoted member of Prayer Tabernacle, known as “The Place of Refuge,” where she found spiritual guidance and community under the leadership of Pastor Devon Long. Her faith deepened through active participation in church services, fellowship gatherings, and outreach programs. Sandra’s warm spirit and commitment to uplifting others made her a cherished presence within the congregation, and her connection to the church became a meaningful part of her life in Florence.

Sandra will forever be remembered as a warm-hearted and compassionate woman whose love for her family was unwavering. Her gentle spirit, generous nature, and nurturing presence touched the lives of everyone around her. Sandra embodied grace and kindness. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she cherished, a testament to the deep bonds she built and the love she gave so freely.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Mattie Fleming, her cherished niece Regina Fleming-McKnight, and her dear grand-nephew Tyree Fleming.

Sandra leaves to cherish her precious memories her brother, James Fleming Jr. of Newark, New Jersey; sister, Lillian Fleming of East Orange, New Jersey; son, Bryan Fleming of West Orange, New Jersey; grand-daughter, Alyssa Fleming of West Orange, New Jersey; nephew, Marvin Fleming of West Orange, New Jersey; two grand-niece, Andrea Fleming of Florence, South Carolina and Destanee Hawkins of Stone Mountain Georgia; along with a wide circle of beloved cousins, extended family members, and cherished friends.
