Teresa Bacote

Ms. Teresa B. Bacote was born May 3, 1964, in Society Hill, South Carolina, to the late Ben Bacote, Sr. and the late Rebecca Slater Bacote. She departed this earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 16, 2022.

Ms. Bacote received her formal education in Darlington County Public School System.

She was employed with Goody’s of Hartsville, South Carolina, where she loved to interact with her customers.

Ms. Bacote was a faithful member of Mother of Gateway Worship Center in Hartsville, South Carolina.

In her spare time, Teresa loved to read her bible, shop, cook for family and spent time with her grandchildren. She was affectionately called “Grandma” by all of the neighborhood children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tomisha Bacote; a grandson, Kwelik Bacote; two sisters, Adelle Calderon and Cora Bull; and a brother, Willie Bacote.

Those left to cherish her memories are: three children, Shalette (Randy) Toney of Hartsville, South Carolina, Lafrieda Bacote of Darlington, South Carolina, and Christopher Bacote of Hartsville, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Montrell Bacote, Dasha Bacote, Kryshia Damon, Keanah Hammond, Dakari Toney, Tykeem Gaddy, Xavier Hammond, Jaida Bacote, and Kiera Toney; four sisters, Shirley Bacote of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary (Alvin) Townsend of Trenton, New Jersey, Barbara Maxwell of Society Hill, South Carolina, and Elouise Joyner of Society Hill, South Carolina; three brothers, Ben, Jr. (Velma) Bacote of Leesville, Louisiana, Dennis (Carletta) Bacote of Portland, Oregon, and Donald (Carla) Bacote of Indian Head, Maryland; a special fur baby, Sweet Pea; a special cousin, Amy Smith; two special friends, Linda Keith and Lisa Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other close relatives, and friends.

 The family will receive friends at 2039 Stonybrook Dr., Hartsville.
