Tiffany N. Thompson

Tiffany Nicole Thompson was born on August 12th, 1984. Affectionately known by family and friends as “Tip or Debo” peacefully departed this life on July 29th, leaving behind a legacy of excellence, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and the countless lives she touched.

Born to Sheldon and Deborah Thompson, Tiffany was a beloved daughter, sister, mentor, and friend.

She was the cherished sister of Millicent (Chase) Leonard; brothers, Sheldon (Lela) Thompson Jr., Alan-Michael (Chanell) Thompson, and Devin Dargan and a host of nieces and nephews; Tristan, Pristina, Amarè, Kaylee, Luna, Kaycen, Kyro, Nova, Kingston. She leaves behind her maternal grandparents, James and Florine Williams; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, four special God-Children, teammates and friends.

Tiffany was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Reverend W.L. Thompson and Geneva Thompson.

Family was the foundation of Tiffany’s life, and she treasured every opportunity to love, encourage, and support those closest to her.

Tiffany graduated from Wilson High School in 2002, where she established herself as one of the greatest athletes in the school’s history. She became Wilson High School’s all-time leading scorer, a record that reflected not only her extraordinary talent but also her relentless work ethic and passion for the game. In 2025, she received one of her highest honors when she was inducted into the Wilson High School Hall of Fame, forever cementing her place among the school’s greatest athletes. 

Her accomplishments continued to be celebrated long after graduation. Tiffany was also inducted into the Florence Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.

Basketball was far more than a sport to Tiffany it was her passion, her purpose, and the vehicle through which she inspired others. She believed in using the game to build character and confidence. Her love for basketball never faded, and she found great joy in pouring into the next generation.

Professionally, Tiffany dedicated her life to serving others. She worked as a Behavioral Health Coordinator with Alexander Network in Charlotte, North Carolina. Through her work, she became a trusted advocate for children, adolescents, and families facing life’s greatest challenges. Tiffany believed every child deserved hope, guidance, and someone who believed in them, and she worked tirelessly to make that belief a reality. She was a natural leader who inspired others not simply through words but through the example she set every day.
