Mr. Wilbert Curtis Cannon was born on January 12, 1952 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Roosevelt Cannon, Sr. and Icelean Cannon. He departed this earthly life on July 16, 2025 at his residence.
Wilbert was educated in the public schools of Florence, South Carolina and was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1970.
Wilbert accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age. He was a devoted member of Salem United Methodist Church and served as a faithful member of the Usher Board. He enjoyed ushering with his nephew, Cliff. He also was a former Master Mason.
Wilbert was employed by Carolina Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina for 46 years assisting many doctors in the operating room prior to retiring due to losing his vision.
Wilbert was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt Cannon, Sr. and Icelean Cannon; one brother, Roosevelt Cannon, Jr.; five sisters, Mary Kelly, Kay Bertha Crawford, Joann Sutton, Shirley McCray, and Lorraine Cannon.
Wilbert leaves to cherish his fond memories one son, Joseph Lefron (Erica Latoya) Cannon of Fort Mill, SC; one granddaughter, Kennedi Deborah Cannon of Charleston, SC; one sister, Deloris C. Thompson of Pamplico, SC; one brother, Gilbert Cannon of Florence, SC; one brother in-law, John Sutton of Baltimore, MD; loving and devoted niece, Patrica Kelly of Florence, SC; devoted friends, George Ashley, Jr. and Wayne Hicks, both of Florence, SC; and a host nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
