Mrs. Cusack joined Mount Zion Chapel Baptist Church in Pamplico, South Carolina at an early age. She served faithfully as an Usher and Missionary until her health declined.

Willie Mae Gibbs was united in holy matrimony on April 23, 1952 to the late George Alphonso  Cusack. To this union three children were born, two daughters, Betty (Robert) Weaver and Mary Barr; and one son, the late Melvin Cusack.
